Best Ever Meat Loaf

MEATLOAF
1-1/2 lbs. ground beef (the leaner, the better)
1/2 cup cracker crumbs
2 beaten eggs
1 8-oz. can tomato sauce
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 tbsp. chopped green pepper (optional)

GLAZE
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

Combine all meatloaf ingredients and shape into loaf, or place in meatloaf pan with drain holes. Bake at 350°F for about 1 hour, or until juice runs clear when pierced with fork (ground beef should always be well done). Spoon glaze over meatloaf and return to oven for 10 minutes more to heat glaze.
