1 pkg. active dry yeast 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 eggs, beaten 7 cups all-purpose flour 3 tbsp. solid vegetable shortening, melted 2 cups luke warm water In a large bowl, combine water, sugar, and salt. Mix well, and add beaten eggs. Add half of the flour and beat well. Add melted vegetable shortening and rest of flour. Mix well. Let rise in warm place (oven with light on works well) till double in bulk. Punch down and cover tightly. Refrigerate. About one hour before baking, remove desired amount of dough. Shape into rolls and place in greased pan. Brush with melted butter. Let rise in warm place until almost double in size. Bake at 450°F for 15-20 minutes. Makes 24 rolls |
